Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How many roses does it take to make a rosary?
A. It takes a one dozen average-sized roses to make one rose petal bead rosary. If your roses are small, I can adjust the size of the beads. If you do not have enough roses, I often have extra petals available. I can also make a rose petal bead/regular bead combination rosary, which require only a few roses.

Q. Will different colored roses create different colored beads?
A. No. All rose petal beads will be black, regardless of the rose petal color. This is due to a chemical reaction that occurs during the heating process.

Q. Will all the beads look exactly the same?
A. I roll each bead by hand, and so there will be slight variations in the size and shape of each bead. This adds to the uniqueness of each rosary.

Q. How should I save the rose petals?
A. Rose petals can be air dried, or stored in the refrigerator until ready to be mailed.

Q. How should I mail the rose petals?
A. If the rose petals are dried, you may put them in a plastic bag and mail them in a padded mail envelope. If the roses are not dried, they must be placed loosely in a box and mailed. Do not put fresh rose petals in a plastic bag or they will mold! Please be sure to detach the rose petals from the rose. I do not use any green parts—only the rose petals. Be sure to include your return address, phone number, order form, and payment. You may also include a note detailing the event in which the roses are from, and I will pray for you or a loved one while I roll the beads for your rosary.

Q. Where do I mail my rose petals?
A. Please email me for the shipping address.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. I accept personal checks and Paypal. You no longer need a Paypal account to pay via Paypal.

Q. How long will it take to make my rosary?
A. The average wait time is 2-1/2 to 4 weeks. If I have to special order items, or if you are ordering multiple rosaries, the wait time may vary.

Q. What is the purpose of bead caps?
A. The purpose is mainly asthetic. The caps add beauty, give contrast, and add visual interest to the beads. The caps do provide some level of protection, and so if you are planning on frequently handling your rosary beads you may want to consider a capped rosary.

Q. I have an idea for a rosary or piece of jewelry that is not on your web site. Can you make it?
A. Let me know what your idea is. If I can find the parts for it, I can probably make it. Additional charges may apply.

Q. I have my own special crucifix or center that I’d like you to use in my rosary. Can you do that?
A. Yes! Please let me know this before paying, and I will subtract the costs for the crucifix or center. Be sure to mail the parts with your rose petals.

Q. Can you make my rosary with a Sterling Silver or Gold Plated crucifix and center?
A. Yes. I can special order Sterling Silver or Gold Plated parts. Please be aware that these pieces are costly, so be sure to email me for a price quote.

Q. Can I place an order for rose petal beads only?
A. Yes, I am happy to take orders for rose petal beads only. The price for 60 beads is $30.

Q. What shipping method do you use?
A. I ship all items via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation and Insurance.

Q. How should I care for my rosary?
A. While your rosary beads will be very durable, they can be damaged. Proper care will ensure that your rosary will last for generations. Store your rosary in a case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Keep your rosary away from areas of extreme heat or cold, high humidity, or strong odors. Remember, the rose petal beads are organic, and should not be immersed in water, or treated with cleaners or chemicals of any kind. If you plan on handling your rosary frequently, a capped rosary will help protect the beads from wear. Because these rosaries contain small parts, they pose a choking hazard and should not be used by small children.
